PUBLIC TOUR CHRISTMAS
TEAM NIKOLO AND THE IMPERIAL CHRISTMAS GROUCHES - AN ENTERTAINING ADVENT WALK THROUGH VIENNA
Christmas decorations and Christmas markets, fragrant punch and gingerbread - Vienna is in the Christmas spirit! It's high time to follow in the footsteps of the Christmas Child, St. Nicholas and Krampus through the festively illuminated city.
Where does St. Nicholas actually come from and what is Krampus all about? We uncover the secret of gingerbread and cookies on the way to the Hofburg. However, famous Habsburg personalities turn out to be real Christmas grouches. We will find out why Empress Sisi liked to stand in the forest at Christmas and what Joseph II had against the nativity scene.
At least the court was convinced by the Christmas tree, but where the tradition of the tree originally came from is a real surprise. The crucial question remains: who brings the presents, the Christ Child or Santa Claus? We answer the question on the way to
St. Stephen's Cathedral, where the tour ends with a once particularly cheerful Christmas mass and the Christmas markets that are still cheerful today. Christmas can come!
