Bunnies, washed feet and a visit from the Pope - entertaining Easter tour of Vienna!

Discover Vienna at Easter time!

Why do we celebrate Easter, what is the Easter Bunny all about and what did Empress Sisi and Emperor Franz-Joseph actually do at Easter? On this tour, which is as varied as it is informative, we will follow the trail of Easter in Vienna. At St. Stephen's Cathedral we learn more about the origins of the festival and wonder about wooden donkeys and flying bells. On the way to the Hofburg Palace, we'll talk about Easter dishes and, of course, the famous Easter Bunny - but also his lesser-known animal colleagues. Washing feet? The Habsburgs had very special rituals at Easter, during which Empress Sisi was usually conspicuous by her absence! Those who believe that the famous "Last Supper" by Leonardo da Vinci can only be found in Milan will also be proven wrong on this tour. After Easter revolutions and a spectacular visit of the Pope, our tour ends at the colorful Easter market of the Freyung square. At the latest between Easter eggs, handicrafts and Easter culinary, Easter mood is guaranteed!
